She seems to be type-casted into these roles, huh? ;P

She does, but she also has roles that are completely different. ♥ Plus I'm just trying to be biased and defend her. :shot:

You know for this weeks question I had 2 names that came to mind straight away- Sho for the best role model- he is Keio boy after all and Jin for worst...just because of his whole attitude. But I decided these 2 were pretty obvious and not to mention I am biased when it comes to these particular Johnnys, so I sat down and thought hard about it.

For the best role model, I had so many options but I finally chose Ikuta Toma in my eyes this guy can do no wrong. He may not be in a debuted group but does he complain about it? No he does not! He is very humble and happy with his position and rightly so. He has worked hard for what he has achieved and has carved an alternate path for his kouhais to follow- which is something none of the guys in the debuted groups could do.

As for the worst role model, I found this really difficult, because all the guys I thought about, even though they had bad qualities they also had good ones to balance them out. In the end I chose Tegoshi and now I prepare to be stoned to death! Don't get me wrong I am a NewS fan and I love tegoshi to bits, but he does have a very bratty attitude which I think is a bad trait to have as a role model. He expects things to be just given to him and likes to have his own way, whereas I think a role model should teach his kouhais to work hard and communicate amd work cooperatively with each other. on the other hand he is independant and likes to compete which is a good trait, not to mention his voice, but now I am arguing myself back out of my decision so I will stop there. So yes Toma is a good role model, whilst Tegoshi... is a slightly worse one?!

Before I give my answers I have to admit that I still don't know that many Johnnies and know very little about them personally so I apologize if there were better picks than these two. But I thought I could give a different perspective on this question because I'm a teeny teeny tiny bit older than most of the jepcast listeners. I don't have any children but my lustful thoughts for the boys are being pushed aside for more maternal thoughts to the point that just last week I was watching Ueda sit with a wide stance and heard myself screaming "Young man you are on television sit properly".

Anyway my picks are based on something very important to me which is education so the best role model goes to Sho. Yes I know he is obvious but the fact is he proves that you can be smart and popular. On top of that he got other idols to follow suit which is something I adore. He's the idol I would want my children to emulate.

For the bad role model I go with Ohno. Now don't get me wrong I love Ohno to death and I know not everyone likes school so I'm not judging at all. What makes him the worst role model is that he is so talented that young kids look and say "Ohno didn't finish high school and he is the leader of a huge band so why do I need school". And at a certain age no one wants to hear that Ohno is an extremely rare case and even though he makes it looks easy his artistic talents are the main reason why he is so successful. And even with talent there are a million guys out there that weren't as lucky to break in the business.

Ok I'll stop now before I sound like an ABC after school special but my point is when I think of who I want my kids to follow I think about the Johnny who uses their advantages to excel and not rest on the Johnny name because let's face it they won't be boy idols at 50.

Hey its me again, I was watching the Junior Coloseum (sp?) clip from the most recent Shounen Club (the one from the 12th). In it they had the Hey Say Jump team vs the Junior team. The only reason I'm bringing this up is because it has been driving me crazy about is Nakayama Yuma with B.I shadow really debuting or if it is just temporary. Yuma, someone from BI Shadow and A-kun were in the junior side. Then I remember from the Shounen Club from the week before that Yamada had mentioned that NYC was a temporary group (not mentioning Yuma with BI Shadow) which of course left me more confused. I was wondering have they mentioned in any show or in a press conference that they are debuting or if it was just temporary?
